Experience some of Tanzania's best destinations; Ngiresi village, Materuni waterfalls, Arusha, Tarangire, Manyara, Eyasi, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti.

Itinerary

Day 1
Kilimanjaro to Arusha:

Welcome to Tanzania. You will be met by our representative who will then transfer you to your hotel in Arusha for overnight. After check in at the hotel, you will be briefed about your safari.

Day 2
Arusha – Ngiresi Village Visit:

After morning breakfast, we will drive you to Ngiresi Village situated 7 kilometers out of Arusha City on the green and steep slopes of Mount Meru. You will enjoy a farm experience and participate in activities like:

- A guided tour to some farms on the green and steep slopes of Mt. Meru.

- A visit to several development projects in the village (soil conservation, irrigation, cross breeding, bio gas, fish nursery).

- Climb to Kivesi Hill, an old volcano with a natural forest on top.

- An insight into the Wa-arusha culture (old stories, traditional houses).

- Delicious lunch and dinner prepared by the Juhudi women's group (for smaller groups, meals are provided by a local family).

Later, return to your hotel in Arusha for overnight.

Day 3
Arusha – Materuni Waterfalls

Today, we drive to the foot of Kilimanjaro to Materuni Waterfalls. This very impressive Waterfall is one of the tallest in the area, spewing crystal clear glacier water 70 meters into its basin. The beautiful path leading to Materuni Waterfall is located 2500 meters above sea level. It traverses through valleys and hills covered by tropical rainforest, past coffee, banana and avocado “shambas”, the Kiswahili word for farms. On a clear day great views of Kibo and Moshi town can be seen. The hike to the base of the Waterfall can be demanding and hiking boots are recommended. As this trip is so close to Moshi town it is ideal for those people with limited time but who would still like to see some of the nature and beauty that this region of Tanzania has to offer.

Materuni is one of the few villages of wonder in Northern Tanzania sitting at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. The village is blessed and full of all the beauty worth much visiting for holiday, week-end outing or vacation. While in the village, scenic view of Moshi Town and Mount Kilimanjaro is astonishing. This green village with fresh air from green vegetation welcomes visitors to explore the beauty of the land and cultural heritage of the Chagga people. A cultural experience such as banana beer brewing or coffee roasted the traditional way can be added to your hike. If your day falls on a local market day, you may visit the local auction market where the local Maasai & Meru people auction their farm produce including cattle. Overnight in Arusha.

Day 4
Safari Adventure in Arusha National Park:

Morning breakfast and drive to Arusha National Park at the foot of Mt. Meru. We will start the day with a walking safari in company of an armed ranger to the base of the most beautiful waterfall in the park. You will encounter various fauna that prowls in its surrounding. The walk will take approximately 2 hours. Arusha National Park, named for its great beauty / the “Jewel of Africa” with only 137 square kilometers, is the closest park of the famous “safari city” of Arusha. Whilst on the game drive, we will be followed by the indescribable glances of giraffes, buffalos and small primates while being immersed in a lush tropical forest. Return to your hotel in Arusha for overnight.

Day 5
Arusha to Tarangire National Park:

Morning breakfast followed by a short safari briefing. Together with our packed lunch boxes, start driving towards Tarangire National Park for a late morning game drive. Tarangire NP named after the Tarangire River lures thousands of plains game to its banks with variety of Herbivores and Predators. This park is also very famous for its tree climbing Pythons, the almost extinct species of wild dogs and huge baobab trees. Picnic lunch followed by a little rest. End your day in an adveturous manner with a late afternoon/evening game drive before checking in to your preferred accommodation in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 6
Game Viewing in Tarangire National Park:

Full day game drive in Tarangire National Park, where the savannah grasslands are dotted with baobab and acacia trees.

Day 7
Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park:

Morning breakfast, check out and head towards the floor of the Great Rift Valley to the small robust and cultural town of Mto Wa Mbu. If you are a kind looking for a great taste of Tanzanian Culture, then Mto wa Mbu Village, a boiling pot of Cultures from different corners of the country is the place to be! Learn what people do for a living, learn different modes of production and what exists in these cultures. You may get an inside look at the homes and exquisite craft of Mto wa Mbu’s many tribes. Visitors will get a chance to meet locals and learn about banana beer, Makonde woodcarvings, and the tribal painting techniques; the village provides a great introduction to everyday life in Africa. Enjoy a local delicious lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive in the neighboring Lake Manyara NP which is famous for its tree climbing lions, aquatic life in the lake and largest concentration of baboons in East Africa. Retire at your accommodation in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 8
Manyara to Serengeti National Park:

After morning breakfast, check out and together with our packed lunch boxes depart for the majestic Serengeti National Park. Our drive will take us through the Ngorongoro Conservation Authority Area where we will have a brief stop at a view point before proceeding to Serengeti arriving in time for a late afternoon game drive. This park is the most famous of Tanzania's National Parks as it is well-known for the annual migration which takes place across the great savannah plains and rivers. We carry lunch boxes so as to make most use of the day. Whilst on our game drive, we will focus on chasing the big cats which include; leopard, lion, cheetah, and many others. Dinner and overnight at your chosen accommodation.

Day 9
In Serengeti National Park Game Viewing:

A full day enjoying spectacular games in Serengeti National Park. This park never disappoints as it has one of the most varied collections of wildlife on the planet! Annually through out a year, millions of animals embark on a migration in Serengeti with incredible spectacle. Vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle roam here, along with groups of elephant, giraffe, and buffalo, as the lions, leopard, cheetah, hyenas and jackals stalk their meals. Meals and overnight at preferred accommodation.

Day 10
In Serengeti National Park

Another full day in Serengeti game viewing.

Day 11
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater:

Morning breakfast and have your last moments in Serengeti on a morning game drive. Thereafter, bid farewell to Serengeti NP and transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will spend the night. En-route, there will be an optional stop at the Maasai village if desired for an insight about their culture, socio-economic livelihood, enjoy dancing and singing their folk songs and much more. Continue to Ngorongoro arriving in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 12
Ngorongoro Crater to Lake Eyasi:

Morning breakfast and descend into the largest intact volcanic Crater in the world. Ngorongoro Crater – “The Eighth Wonder Of The World” at more than 2,000 feet deep and 12 miles in diameter, has one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. 30,000 animals make their home in this crater, making it an ideal place for sightings of the ‘big 5′ which include; lion, elephant, rare black rhino, buffalo and leopard. Picnic lunch will be at the Hippo Pool on the crater floor. Resting after lunch, transfer to Lake Eyasi – The Home of the Bushmen for overnight.

Day 13
Lake Eyasi to Karatu and Departure:

An early morning hunting experience with the Hadzabe Bushmen. The Hadzabe are an ethnic group in north-Central Tanzania, living around Lake Eyasi in the central Rift valley and in the neighboring Serengeti Plateau. The Hadzabe number is approx 1300. Some 300 – 400 Hadza live as full-time hunter-gatherers. Depending on your luck of the day, you may come home with birds, baboon, monkeys, wild fruits and much of what nature might offer. Return for brunch at your lodge and thereafter, proceed with a drive to Karatu Town where you will visit a local school. Continue to Arusha for drop off at Kilimanjaro International Airport for connection onto your international flight out.

END OF SAFARI
