Have a once in a life time trek to the mountain gorillas for a face to face encounter with these Gentle Giants.

Day 1 – Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Welcome to Uganda – THE Pearl of Africa! Go through the necessary immigration procedures and thereafter, meet and greet by our company representative. Transfer to your hotel in Entebbe for overnight.

Note: You can obtain a visa at a cost of $50pp from Immigrations upon arrival or if also traveling to Kenya and Rwanda, an East African tourist visa at a cost of $100pp.

Day 2 – To Murchison Falls National Park

Morning breakfast, check out and head Northern via Kampala. An en-route stop-over in Nakasongola for a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and thereafter, proceed for hot lunch in Masindi. After lunch and a little relaxation, continue to Murchison Falls National Park arriving in time for a late afternoon game drive to catch a glimpse of some of the amazing wildlife!

Day 3: In Murchison Falls National Park

Embark on an early morning game safari on the northern bank of the River Nile. Go trailing animals and studying animal spoors. Game in this area includes Giraffe, Elephant, Buffalo, Hartebeests, Lion, Uganda Safari Kob, Oribi and a variety of Savannah and woodland birds. After the lunch break, take a Nile boat trip on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls for game viewing at close quarters. This is a paradise of Hippos, Crocodiles and Waterbucks. The boat stops a few meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. Enjoy photographic sessions of the Mighty Murchison Falls! Thereafter, take a hike to the magnificent top of the falls where you marvel at the Mighty Nile being forced into a 6 meter crevice to thunder 40 meters below in a series of cascades!!!

Day 4: To Kibale Forest National Park

Morning breakfast, check out and bid farewell to Murchison Falls. Take a long ride to Kibale Forest travelling along the Albertine Rift (look out for spectacular views from the top of the Albert rift) and passing close to Lake Albert. En-route stop over for our picnic lunch and to stretch our legs. Continue with our journey to Kibale arriving in the early evening where the night falls with the sounds and whispers of the tropical rain forest.

Day 5: In Kibale Forest National Park

After early morning breakfast, transfer to Kanyanchu Tourist Centre for briefing prior to the chimpanzee tracking activity. Have a morning spell in the forest as you track the Chimpanzees and other primates resident in this rainforest.  In the afternoon, have a Bigodi Swamp Walk. This is an initiative of the local people geared towards conservation in this area. On this trip you have chances for seeing different birds & butterfly species, primates like black and white colobus monkey, red tailed monkey, blue monkey, grey-cheeked mangabeys, etc. There is also a variety of interesting plant species.

Day 6: To Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning breakfast, check out and bid farewell to Kibale for a departure journey to Queen Elizabeth NP travelling through the Fort Portal-Kasese road. Arrival at Queen Elizabeth NP in time for lunch and a little relaxation! Later in the early evening, have a game safari to end your day in an adventurous manner.

Day 7: In Queen Elizabeth National Park

A sunrise game-safari adventure!!! This park has got different vegetation types and eco-systems such as tropical forest, grassy plains, rivers, lakes – Edward and George, swamps and volcanic craters which harbor amazing wildlife species.  With the massive Rwenzoris as a backdrop, game safaris in the park provides excellent opportunities to encounter  elephants, cape buffalo, thousands of Uganda Kobs, lions, leopard, Topi, giant forest hog, de fassa waterbuck and bush buck. After lunch, have a two hours launch trip on the famous Kazinga Channel that links Lakes Edward and George. The launch trip is not only a wonderful way to see schools of hippos and the occasional Nile crocodile but also offers spectacular bird watching, game viewing and photography opportunities.

Day 9: Gorilla Tracking

An early morning breakfast and together with our packed lunches and Gorilla trekking gear, report to the Uganda Wild Authority park headquarters at Bwindi for registration and pre-briefing before you start the trek. After briefing and in groups of 8 pax each, enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure!! The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular. Time allowed to spend with the Gorillas is 1 hr. To many, a visit to these gentle and endangered giants is such an awesome, exciting and memorable experience to be long savoured! Note: The Gorilla trek may take up to 8 hrs of hiking in the rugged terrain so good physical condition is a MUST!

Day 10: To Lake Mburo National Park

Morning breakfast and check out of the “Home base of the Mountain Gorillas”. Depart with great memories of the moments spent with the amazing Gentle Giants! Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park arriving in time for an early evening game drive before returning to your accommodation for overnight.

Day 11: To Entebbe and departure

An early rise to a cup of coffee/tea with a bite! Embark on a safari walk for a face to face encounter with the residents of Lake Mburo whilst on foot. Return to your accommodation for a fully-fledged breakfast. Thereafter, check out and drive back to Entebbe with an en-route brief stop at the Uganda Equator. Drop off at Entebbe International Airport for onward departure.

NotePossibility of us taking you to a hotel / guesthouse where you can have dinner and refresh prior to your transfer to the Airport. Dinner is approx. $30pp and use of a day room is $130 for up market accommodation, $115 for mid-range accommodation and $50 for budget accommodation.
